For in surgery laser whitening

* If you have visible crowns, bridges and veneers or fillings on your front teeth please note that these will not change colour with tooth whitening and you should be prepared to replace them. Make sure that you discuss this with your dentist.

HOME KIT:

• Taking an impression or mould of your teeth to manufacture bespoke trays that fit over your teeth. Once the trays are ready, we will check their fit and will demonstrate how to apply the whitening gel.
• The initial shade of your teeth is recorded and you are supplied with a whitening gel.
• Depending on the gel supplied the trays either need to be worn overnight or for a couple of hours during the day.
• Some of the darker shades of teeth may require an extended period of whitening. Home whitening is very effective and it can be topped up to preserve the results.
• Once you have your whitening trays, your dentist can supply you with further whitening gel as and when necessary.

IN SURGERY:

• The appointment lasts around 90 minutes. The teeth are isolated and your gums and lips are protected with a specifically formulated product.
• The whitening gel is then placed onto your teeth and a light is used to activate the gel for about 15 minutes. The gel is then changed and the process is repeated a few times.
• Upon completion, the final shade is recorded and photographs are taken to compare your results. There is an instant result, however, dehydration of the teeth can sometimes give a falsely enhanced result, which can lead to disappointment when the teeth rehydrate many hours later.

• We recommend top ups of your whitening every 4-6 months to maintain results.
